Hey, Daybreak Family!

Hopefully you had the chance to watch the important video we sent via email on Friday, and that we showed again in the service this morning as we reviewed our August 9 Regathering Plan, giving time for you to ask questions about it. If you missed that update, we encourage you to take the time to watch the video (in the link above) to hear our heart behind some BIG changes that are coming for our campuses, our service times, and our Regathering Plan for this fall. Then, come back to this email for additional details related to the plan, including the August 9 RSVP link for indoor services and Kid Min.

So, as we said in the video, after considering all of our options, we’ve chosen to regather BOTH campuses at our GP Campus beginning August 9 until our OBR Campus is finished later this fall - this means we will be “One church, with TWO campuses, in ONE location” for the next few months. This will allow us to be good stewards of our resources and foster long-term missional momentum by saving close to $40,000 of unbudgeted expenses through not extending our GHR facility lease.

For those of you who attend our GHR Campus, it did not escape us that this new Regathering Plan means we will not have the opportunity to gather back at our GHR building together for normal services. So instead, we’re inviting our GHR Campus family to come together one last time to express gratitude for all that facility has meant to us, and to pray over it before joining together for THE BIG MOVE where we’ll pack and transport most everything over to storage at the OBR facility, while the rest will go to the GP Campus for the time being. See the details below!

As we prepare to regather on August 9, below are the specifics of our 3 NEW service times. You'll notice that each time is being focused towards a specific campus, but our entire church family is welcome to attend any service! What does it mean that we’re focusing each service towards a specific campus? It means that, as much as possible, we’re encouraging specific services to be supported and attended by people from a specific campus, allowing folks to continue to develop relationships and worship shoulder to shoulder with others from that specific campus.

A few other notes on these service times:

  • Our 8:00 AM indoor service was intentionally chosen as the “masked required” service because it is the first time attendees will be utilizing the building that morning. Just a heads up that although masks are required for the duration of the service, this does not include the Worship and Preaching Team members on the stage.
  • At our 9:30 and 11:00 AM indoor services, we’re asking everyone to wear “moving masks” if you’re able. What that means is that we’re asking you to wear a mask anytime you’re moving around our building because that’s when it’s hard to social distance.
  • In both 9:30 and 11:00 AM indoor services, attendees will have the option to be unmasked while in the room, including singing. If that feels too risky to you, we encourage you to choose the 8:00 AM mask-required service, or the 9:30 or 11:00 AM outdoor services.
  • For all of our indoor services, we’re asking you to leave 1 seat between you and the other families that attend.
  • For all outdoor services, we’re asking that you bring your own chairs (we will also have some that can be borrowed if you forget!) and that you maintain appropriate social distance with other families during the service.
  • Just a heads up that our outdoor services will have a live worship team and a live host, but will include a simulcast of the message.
  • For those of you choosing to stay home in the best interest of your family, our Sunday morning online service options are shifting: the live stream service (live.db.church) will now take place at 9:30 AM, preceded by our Preschool Lesson at 8:30 AM and our Elementary Lesson at 9:00 AM. Both of those kid lessons can be found at kmlessons.db.church

>> For those planning on attending INDOOR services, we’re asking your family to RSVP each week. RSVPing isn’t “saving yourself a seat,” it’s showing honor and love by helping us plan well and allowing you to engage in an environment with appropriate social distance.

The link to RSVP for our August 9 services is now live (click here)!

  • Each week the new RSVP link can be found at Registrations.db.church or under the events tab of our Church Center app.
  • Parents - on Sunday mornings the Church Center app can also be used for quick, contactless Kid Min check-in (this does not replace RSVPing, however). Just search “Church Center” in the App Store or Google Play to download the app and add Daybreak as your church upon setup.

>> For those planning on attending OUTDOOR services, it would be helpful to RSVP your kids if you plan to check them into Kid Min, but there’s no need to RSVP otherwise to attend an outdoor service. We do, however, want to encourage you to start checking Sunday’s forecast on Saturday:

As you think about returning in person, we encourage you to use discretion on whether you ought to attend church based on any symptoms you might be feeling. Our Kid Min has a spectacular Well Child Policy that serves as a great guide to all of us (adults and kids alike) to know whether or not we’re healthy enough to attend church in person.

A few other measures we’re taking related to physical health:

> KIDS

  • All kids and Kid Min volunteers will be temperature scanned upon arrival.
  • Kids are being asked to wear masks AS MUCH as they’re able. If it’s too difficult for your child to wear a mask, it’s okay - our Kid Min is taking other measures to ensure the safety of our kids:
    • Social distancing as much as possible
    • Cleaning between services
    • Using separate rooms for separate services as space allows
    • Not serving snacks
  • Fusion Kids (5th & 6th Grade) will not be starting the service in the Worship Center like they had previously done. They should be directly checked into their classrooms.
  • View the full Kid Min Regathering Plan with ALL the details at: KidMinPlan.db.church

> ADULTS

  • Hospitality and Worship Arts volunteers will be temperature scanned upon arrival.
  • We’ll employ contactless greeting and we won’t be utilizing a welcome time in the service.
  • We’ll be providing grab-and-go coffee and beverage options instead of self-serve coffee.
  • Service-specific Program Guides and pens will be available for you to pick up if you choose to do so.

As you process all of this, we want to point you back to Romans 12:10, which says, “Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring one another,” and to Romans 13, where the command, “love your neighbor as yourself” is found. As we regather, both for those engaging in person and for those who will continue to engage from home, let’s DELIGHT in honoring each other, in loving each other, in doing what we can to be a blessing to each other. What an opportunity we have to create unity in the way we live this out. Let’s do it, Daybreak!

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, 8/9!

- Pastor Ric, Pastor Shawn, and Pastor Jason
